Robert A. Ayers, Sr.


FEEDING HILLS - Robert A. Ayers, Sr. of 151 South Westfield Street died on Friday, November 18, 2005 at home. Robert was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Maryland receiving a BSEE degree in electrical engineering. He lived in Maryland and worked for the federal government at NESEA in St. Inigoes, Maryland. He moved to Massachusetts with his family in 1980 and worked for 25 years for Hamilton Sundstrand as an engineer. Bob was a soccer official at the town, high school, and college levels throughout the area for many years. He was also a member of many soccer associations, including the Massachusetts State Soccer Assessors Association. His other passions included skiing, Saabs and woodworking.

He loved his family and leaves behind Jo A., his wife; Marni E. Ayers, his daughter, and grandson, Joseph V. Penna, all of Feeding Hills; a son, Robert, Jr., of Arlington, Virginia; a sister, Donna, and her husband, Alan, nieces Ashleigh and Lyndsy Snelson of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania; and a brother, Lewis Bachman, and his wife, Jan, and four nephews in Maryland.
