State Youth Referee Administrator (SYRA)

Overall Responsibility

The SYRA has the responsibility of overseeing the operations and administration of the Massachusetts Referee Program as it relates to Recreational and Youth referees.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Provides administrative assistance to the Massachusetts State Cup referee assignor and approve all referee assignments.

In conjunction with the MSRC, selects and appoints the proper referee to major in-state and out of state youth tournaments (ie: USYSA Region I Championships, ODP-Region I, State Cups, MTOC, Kohl’s American Cup).

Along with the SDA works to provide assessments of referees at the grade 9, 8, and 7 levels.

State Referee Administrator and the Massachusetts State Referee Committee

Term

A State Youth Referee Administrator (SYRA) shall be appointed by the Youth State Association for a specified (2) two year term with the advice of the State Referee Administrator.
