May 6, 2004 - We are pleased to announce that Gus St. Silva of Waltham has been named as the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association's (NISOA) Referee of the Year
in Region 1 for the 2003 season.
Gus is well known in the Massachusetts referee family as a hard worker and a referee who is committed to excellence. "It is hard to imagine
anyone more dedicated and conscientious than Gus in terms of commitment to being the very best." said the New England Chapter of NISOA in the announcement of the award on its website.
Gus has risen through the ranks
of the Massachusetts referee program working in the state's competitive youth and adult leagues. Gus has also excelled within the professional soccer world. His efforts have earned him a place among the chosen few who are on the list
to officiate games in Major League Soccer.
